The knife is one of the beautiful weapons I have ever held. Razor sharp, nice craftsmanship, a solid blade and an overall gorgeous knife. The sheath on the other hand, is absolute garbage. It's not real leather, it is made out of a hardened paper-like material. The belt loop snapped off the first day i wore it and i had to pay to have a custom sheath built for it. IF you buy this knife, be prepared to pay for a custom sheathWould you recommend this to a friend? Yes

-Knife-
This is a very solid knife and it feels good in the hand, however I do recommend this particular knife to someone who has large hands otherwise your index finger will not sit comfortably within the finger guard. The knife's weight center favors the handle just a 1/4in from the bolster so it does not vibrate in your hand if you hit something in a swing. The blade is of decent making and I would place it in a higher quality tier compared to other fixed bladed knives at similiar pricing. The steel is very difficult to hone and I could not achieve "of razor quality" due to the density of the steel, however the edge I was able to apply held up very well and only needs a touch-up ever few days in a heavy use environment.
-Sheath-
Fresh out of the package it looks to be of excellent quality, but this is NOT a sheath for high use, or much of any use for that matter. This is the particle board design for leather, it's as if shredded leather was packed and pressed together with hot glue and a thin leather "skin" is glued to the outside as well to make it look fancy. The only thing that held up to the abuse was the stitching and the pistol lock button. The first thing to go is the entire belt loop where the loop meets the sheath. While on your person the leather skin will unbind from the rest of the sheath during times heat, movement, and weakens the overall belt loop, eventually tearing itself apart.
I give this whole product a 4 out of 5 as a reflection on the sheath and not the knife, as it is of good quality.
-suggestions-
If you buy this knife, use the sheath as long as you want but I would suggest a custom sheath to be built. Preferably authentic leather as your first choice; it can be quite expensive based on the quality you want, it's worth it though. If you're on a budget then a tough nylon sheath with a retainer wall inside will be your second best choice. It will hold water in the threads if it becomes wet, so a toasty sun bath will be needed afterward.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

A good solid knife, there were some manufacturing marks on the knife where the blade meets the hand guard. Couldnt get it to sharpen up as well as some more expensive blades, but it holds a edge. Probably the best chinese made fixed blade knife i have purchased.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

I love this knife, It's a lot sharper then I thought, only on account that I sliced my finger going across the blade. In addition I am also trying to get my little brother & cousin to join Budk.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

A very good knife, the only flaw I saw was that the edge appeared to have been ground in instead of sharpened in, which was easily cleared with my sharpening stones and honing rods along with a quick polish. Now its the star of my collection.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

Being a cutlery dealer and being in the industry for some time I decided to wear the knife at my cutlery booth. Many asked to see the knife and asked if I would take their order or one. Since I do special order on items. The kife is sharp out of the box, and the sheath is of quality. And as another posted on this item just seeing it in the sheath looks intimidating.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

Great knife for the price, however, don't let the pictures in the catalog of Gil Hibben at work fool you, this knife says "China" right on the blade (therefore only 4 stars). A little disappointed since made in China was not noted in the catalog or on the website. We'll see how Chinese stainless steel holds up in the long run.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

I have four Hibben Knives and planning to buy more for my collection. So for they have all been top notch. I have big hands and some of them could be bogger handles. The sheaths are good also.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes
