I bought one of the old versions (1 of 5000 runs) years ago. Like it but a bit stiff. Bought a new one and with it's smooth operation, heavy duty construction, and great safety I bought another new one for a total of three. My ex-patrol partner (police) saw it in action and bought one also.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

This is a really good knife. The gear system that opens it is smooth and clean. And it comes fairly sharp! for me thats a great bonus because some things on budk come dull. You also get a good price on this for how good this knife is.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

This knife is a great buy at a great price.very solid,no blade wiggle at all. When you unfold it you have to push the middle up or down depending on if you are opening or closing, but that's not a problem.the belt clip it comes with it very handy also. This Is a great knife for actually work, like camping fishing hunting etc... what else could we expect from "smith & Wesson".Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

This is a solidly constructed knife that looks like it could be opened and closed thousands of times. Unique open feature requires both hands to open. The blade is shorter than the handle and the handle is actually quite big it fits in your hand nicely. Good price for a novelty one of a kind knife.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

Reviewed by Shino from South Florida on 25-Dec-2012Heavy Handle, Unbalanced
Rating2 star2
I have no idea what I was thinking when I purchased this knife. It's handle is significantly larger, thicker, and heavier than the blade itself. It opens in a very unnatural, and uncomfortable way. The belt clip doesn't keep a tight grip on the knife when it's holstered, so it swings back and forth wildly. Overall the knife is very annoying. It's only redeeming quality is that it's a tanto blade, and even that perk is sullied when you realize that the blade can't hold an edge for more than a few cuts, then it's back to the grindstone. I wouldn't recommend this knife for anyone.Would you recommend this to a friend? No

Reviewed by Dr. Gene Long from Richmond, VA on 22-Dec-2012What a knife!
Rating4 star4
This knife is not for everybody. The opening and closing takes a lot of getting used to. I had almost given up on it, but then I finally understood. This is not a lightening fast fighting knife, but in the hands of someone who understands it, it will cut the cahunies off a black bear! The tanto blade is almost 5" long. After a lot of practice I can open it very quickly, and once the blade is out it is locked in place, it is not going back inside until YOU make it. I now carry this knife every day, and would not trade it for an automatic knife. I hope you buy 1 and enjoy it as much as I do.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes
