This is an excellent, no frills, basic knife. It has a full tang. It is rugged with a strong blade that holds an edge well. The rubberized hilt provides a good grip. My only complaint (slight) would be that it has a glass breaker in the end of the hilt. I would prefer a steel pommel for pounding (you don't find many windshields to break in the backwoods). The sheath is very versatile. You can wear it low, high or horizontal on your belt, or attach it with the Molle straps on the back to the Molle straps on your backpack. The pressure grip at the top of the sheath clamps the hilt firmly in place so you can also wear it upside down on the shoulder strap of you backpack without fear of it falling out. The price is excellent for this reliable, sturdy backwoods tool.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes
