First of all, out of the box you're going to want to sharpen the blade depending on how you plan to use it. For me, this is a last-resort self-defense weapon, so I can hone a razor-sharp blade since it probably will never be used - I've got a pocket-knife for the rest. Point is, YOU WILL WANT TO SHARPEN, HONE, STRAIGHTEN the blade. If you don't know what I mean by that, speak to someone proficient with blades before buying this. Out-of-the-box I found the edge rather dull, at least compared to the way I keep kitchen knives, so injury is likely without due care - be advised. The big plus-side to this knife is that if you ever have to pull it out for a fight, folks are likely to back down - it looks something nasty. Personally I like a forefinger-hole for a karambit for stability, both because whipping one around in the air tends to make violent idiots back down, and also because of the combat-options it gives. The down-side, beside the lack of a forefinger-hole, is that opening it single-handed is near impossible - and in combat fumbling isn't an option. That said, I'm a rightie, so keeping it in the left pocket allows me to flip the blade open and use the left forearm thereafter to guard against attack, then use the blade against an opponent's forearm (preferable) or threaten the jugular right quick (when all chips are down), with practice - think your standard windmill defense. I suspect a leftie could do likewise. Although for me this is a last-resort combat weapon, I can also see it as an everyday "pocketknife." You'll want to sharpen the blade accordingly, and I think it would do fine service as such, curved edge and all - nevermind that if you pull it out, it looks sufficiently "bad**s" to deter the relatively-stupid-and/or-drunk. Just be aware that handling will depending on palm-size, familiarity with karambit-style weaponry, and general fight-readiness.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

good ergonomic fit in the fist, wicked curved blade very effective in both slash and deep stab mode. A much better tactical fighting knife than you'd expect for a folder in this price range.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

this knife is scary. just plain terror incarnate. i bought one for my knife collection because i didn't have any karambits and this was resonably priced for it's quality. needless to say i'm so impressed i'm buying another to carry around. That long curved talon is more than enough to scare the day lights out of some poor robber.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

Rating4 star4
This knife is awesome, blade is wicked, handle is a beautiful shiny metalic blue , and it come out in a flash. The ony thing I would improve is the belt clip. The tiny screws keep coming loose and I had to use some Loctite thread lock on one to keep it in.You will need the smallest of the small hex headed wrench tool to tighten it. I went ahead and removed and put thread lock on all screws. Now it will get a five star rating. Price is unreal too, go ahead and get two, cause your friends or relatives will want one too!Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes
