I just got mine in the mail today. Not a waste of money for thirteen bucks but definitely not samurai quality. The handle was pretty cheapo. It was crudely painted with silver paint and made of some kind of rubber or plastic. The strap on the umbrella came off the first time I opened it up but I was able to reattach it with a little glue. This sword DOES NOT come sharp at all! really wish they stated that in the item description. However, with some ingenuity and a lot of elbow grease I was able to put an edge on it. Aside from that, it seems pretty solidly built for the price. It won't hold up in a sword battle should I come across another immortal, but it will definitely do the job as an emergency deterrent or weapon and is a great conversation piece. Its also easier to explain keeping an umbrella by your bed than a ninja sword.

The Said umbrella arrived today, the umbrella is nice but is held only by spring tension which is fine for me, the sword is more like a large slim dagger then a sword though with a nice point and sides so blunt they are square.

Blunt is being kind, I have seen butter knives that were more pointy.. The paint job is so,so and it takes a while to unscrew. I didn't expect a lot for the price but they could have at least put a point on the blade.

First off, as an umbrella, it doesn't lock open or closed, it's just held in place by spring tension. The handle was crudely painted. The silver is excessive on the designs. When the sword is screwed in, it fits very snugly and doesn't rattle. The blade itself blunt. Period. Unless you're planning on spending hours sharpening it, don't bother. If you're interested in a cheap show-off piece, it works. Not so much for real world usage.
