Very Nice

This item arrived today. I must say a very nice product. All assembled and I test fired it twice. First time no wax, it was okay. Second test fire I waxed the rails and the string. It stuck very nicely in a tree, about 1 inch deep. As always never load the bolt without the safety on and remember do not ever point a weapon at a person unless your defending yourself. I think it would deter an assailant after the first bolt hit them almost anywhere. I purchased this for the day the SHTF and who knows, mini ice age that is arriving as I speak. Anyone coming through my door will be met with a bolt in the chest and perhaps I will hunt squirrels and rabbits and maybe a coy-dog or two. I live in the country so we have those wild animals everywhere. Good buy for what it is. Not a Toy as with anything requires some intelligence to operate it is what it is. Oh, the front foot loop can be removed as most people have enough strength to cock the string, it is no big deal..

Very Nice

Dead on

Love this thing I live in a city and have vermin problems. All outside, squirrels and rats that like to destroy my garden. I'm taking them out from a secon floor window. Gotta know how to use it.

all good for me

First i need to say im a regular guy, this was bought for me as a gift and honestly it has performed very well for me. i took the crappy sights off, but thats ok still shoots good for the range it has, pretty darn accurate if u just practice. its not perfect, the bendable arm thing wobbles a little bit but the arrows seem to stay fairly true so idk. its to be expected this is more toy than serious tool. i wouldn't try to survive on it but I dont think i would regret buying one either.

all good for me

I have to say, this is definitely my worst purchase from Trueswords and I would definitely recommend you avoid this bow. It's every bit as powerful as advertised, however the safety is made of plastic and is very prone to clicking off by itself and then firing. Out of 25 shots, 3 of them clicked off the safety by itself, and then 2 seconds later fired. At first I thought that maybe I wasn't cocking the string all the way, but after pulling it back all the way each time, it still continued to fire itself. This crossbow is dangerous and if you're going to buy a pistol grip crossbow, get one made completely out of metal components and save yourself from frustration and possible injury.

Patients & Knowledge

First, just take all your nuts off and lock tight them, Problems solved. Second, a little dab of silicon under you sight mount holds it steady and in place DONT over tighten'!!! Third, When you load it make sure the safety is on! This is a VERY GOOD idea for ANY type fire arm! And, when you remove safety DON'T push bolt back any further on rail! This is were your miss fires come from. The string will travel between the bolt and the rail! Fourth, WAX THE STRING AND RAIL!!! first and every 10 or so bolts. This Is A MUST! Over all, Excellent! Great for teachin' the youngin's or the new Wife....

dangerous crap

This thing is total crap and anyone who gives it a good rating is just mad at themselves and wants you to waste your money also. As posted by others the string will not hit the bolt when fired unless you get lucky . the dangerous part is that after loading the bolt it will sometimes simply fire without pulling the trigger . The screw that holds down the back of the sight was stripped out . So the sight moves from side to side if touched . I did manage to get it to fire a couple of times properly . the 80Lbs is probably greatly exaggerated . I have a cheap old thing I think came from walmart that has a stronger pull . too bad it finally cracked where the sights are mounted . I would send this back but then I would still have money invested in it and time so I will just toss it . Not likely to be ordering any more items from Budk .

dangerous crap

Fun

It is a fun bow to have. I wouldnt use this bow for hunting but it sure is fun just to mess around with. Its kinda cheap, it has an extreme hair trigger on it. But i wasnt expecting much from a crossbow thats $30. I recommend it to have fun with, but not to hunt

Fun

Worst thing I've ever bought

This cross bow was probably the worst piece of artillery I have ever used. My son is 12 and wanted one badly so I figured I get him a little cheap one that isn't very powerful. It was unable to puncture a hole through a box from 10 feet away. After 10 minutes of use it snapped and formed a large crack going across the gun. It was useless so I sent a request for a refund or a new one being that the one they had sent me was obviously in bad condition or had an issue with the hardware. When the next one arrived it was missing screws and fell apart when I picked it up.

Worst thing I've ever bought

Good

Well you get what you pay for, i got this crossbow last christmas and it still preforms well. If you decide to get one be sure to buy AT LEAST a couple dozen spare arrows(bolts) for they do break and the fletching comes unglued very easy.

Good

Hmmmmm!

well I guess I expected more, but for $30.00 you get what you pay for. It is very inaccurate and will only go through one side of a 12" x 12" card board box, and then one arrow broke and 2 bounced off and ???? who knows where they are. I put it away for now, I'll mess with it later and see if I can make it work a little better.

Hmmmmm!

Disappointing

Was very excited about this after reading reviews and watching videos. After only 15 minutes of use, the plastic cracked under the weight of the bow and was useless. Going to try the more expensive one with metal instead. Great concept, was fun while it lasted but not durable.

Disappointing

Awesome

Love this crossbow. My first one ever. I didn't have a target or anything to shoot at until I found a scrap piece of drywall. Shot right through the drywall at 20ft and didn't even break. Great buy for the price with no disappointments.

very good

very good crossbow. while shooting it and missing i shot holes through the aluminum siding of my house and shot a fist sized hole through my vinyl fence through both sides. pretty powerful for a little bow. i broke all of my fletchings off BUT you can still fire the bolts after and it looks like they travel even faster

very good

Great

love this crossbow dont know what most people are shooting at when they say the bolts break i used 1 bolt for 3 hours of shooting and it is still great and as for any loose screws any projectile wepon no mater the size you always cheak befor you fire it every time crossbow or gun even if you are 100% positive they are tight the only thing i wish is for better heads, then field tips, so i can take down better game(turkys instead of spall birds) but i can get those later. all in all great

Great

avalanch 80

Nice! I love it! I read a review where the person said they had a number of problems. I put mine together and adjust everything accordingly and I found that the arrow tips screw so I tighten them before use and I've had no problems over the past week of everyday shooting. Anyway I like it, I have accurately shot and hit my home made target from over 50 feet away. Cant wait to get the cobra next!!! Budk should enable users to post pics and videos of product usage!?
