Worth the money

After reading the reviews I took a chance on this sword for $29.00. I'm very impressed with the feel, weight, and overall details of the sword. I have tried the blade on a few things and it's done fine.

What a steel!

Where can you buy a battle ready katana for $ 30? They don't mention that in their description but I researched this Katana at another site which said it came sharp with blood groove. It came to me VERY sharp. It is tightly wrapped with nothing loose. It has a heavy blade ready to do what you ask of it. The scabbard is quite attractive with a bright green bamboo leaves in green. It fits nicely in this scabbard. It is a worthy addition to anyone's collection. Better buy one before they are gone. It actually came sharper than my Shimwa Damascus blades. Thanks Bud K! Brian

I bought this sword as a BOGO, and i love both of them. Very sharp, both in appearance and blade. Great sword for the price. Once again, TS got it to me very fast. No complaints. Highly recommend.

Blade is VERY well made, scabbard had green etched in bamboo pictures on it that give it a nice touch. I am very happy with this purchase, extremely well balanced, solid construction, obviously made with some love. Get this now.

Absolutely beautiful. Could'nt stop counting the hours till the sword arrived. When I finally got it, my body tingled with excitement of simply holding it and gazing at it's beauty. The sword is sturdy and firm, also within its saya. Love the saya and first thing to catch my eye , simply gives the sword a touch of serenity and I'm glad to have add this to my collection of traditional Japanese items and culture.

A spectacular deal, but my blade has a minor knick 10 and 1/4 inches down from the point, which is very annoying to look at. I'm dissatisfied with the minor flaw in the blade, but as for the decorative saya, I am extremely enamored with it's beauty. If you like collecting unique swords, knives, or weapons, I suggest buying this blade from trueswords.

A great value.

I had received the sword and loved it. It is sturdy and i can tell you i can't not just walk around my house with it. I take it everywhere x)

Anyways, yeah, nice, sturdy, strong.
Overall good sword, slightly heavier than expected, but not too heavy.

I asked my father to get me this for my early birthday gift and he trusts me with it. The delivery was on time and it is amazing. It amazed my dad as well. The design is elegant and fits well. The katana feels loose in the saya but it's just a peeve. Overall, this katana is a fine addition to my life.

Its my first sword so I wasn't looking for anything special, however this sword definitely impressed me. I am glad to have purchased it.

This is one of my first swords that helped start my collection. This sword may be blade heavy, but it was that much of issue to deal with. The blade is strong and sharp, and handles quite nicely. now i don't recommend trying this , but i was testing my blades out on to bottles, and i accidentally cut into the wooden bench i had to place the bottles on. This itself left a pretty big gash into the bench, but surprising enough, the blade still held its edge with no damage at all as it seemed. it also happened a second time with a different katana i got on the same day (I wasn't use to the swing, and i was using one hand on a two-handed swords), and it nicked the blade, and this was a blade made by a named brand company. With all that set aside, this sword is great for a starter for collector for that of it functionality and its quality.

Love the 39.99 price tag on this sword. When it arrived I was supprised at the quality of craftsmanship on this sword. Where I Live is almost 8000 feet in elevation. I split alot of wood getting ready for winter. Should have seen my family gaulk as stood and split 4 peices of firewood. There was no damage to the blade, although don't recomend testing your sword in such a manner. I've gotten 98 percent of the sap resign off, stil working on the other 2.

I just got this sword, it is my third from TrueSwords. It really is as awesome as people have been saying, and you can't beat it for the price. Equals my other 60 dollar Musashis I have. Razor sharp and very tight cord wrap, the bamboo artwork is really great looking. It has great balance and feel, can't wait to get cutting!

To be honest the first thing that caught my attention was the price of this sword. I'm still a beginner when it comes to swords but I've done some research to know what I was getting based off the specs. After I was satisfied I read some of the reviews and said what the hell and bought it.

I couldn't ask for a better sword to start off my collection.

On to the sword itself.

For one like I stated earlier amazing price. Also was very happy with how sharp the sword was. Was well oiled but seemed to have accumulated a bit of crud on it but a quick wipe down with my bandanna fixed that. The tsuba had nice feel and looks way better in person. Had a nice worn look to it. The hilt waas nice even if it was cotton wrapped. Wasn't uncomfortable at all. The seya took me a bit convincing since I prefer simple katanas and to be honest it takes a bit of the seriousness away from the overall presentation. But the bamboo carvings were actually a darker shade of green when I got it so I really wasn't bothered and think the darker color looks better.

The only problem I've come across with this sword is the balance. While on the most part the balance is perfect when going through a few paces with it the blade seemed to dip down. To be fair that just might be me getting used to the weight.

So there you go. For that price and quality some of you more seasoned sword collectors/users may have to purposefully look for flaws that might not even be a real flaw if anything. I have 3 more swords coming soon so I will write reviews on them when the time comes.
