Well built, my experience with "assist open knives" is that each requires a different technique to open. The ones with lever under blade usually easier, the ones like this knife with stud on blade different, and may require some practice to do so. The first most often a quick flip, and second pressure upwards on stud which may require more effort. Nevertheless, this is a knife that should be very serviceable because of strong construction.
Bummer. As much as I like sh master name. This knife is decent quality blade & handle. But the assisted release is not very good at all. The leverage point to use the thumb stud is way off. Is awkward to open. Maybe you will have better luck.
Sorry folks. I would not recommend this to folks based on the odd release tension.
Thankfully, I got it on sale.
So don't feel to bad. Not too good either.
Assist is almost a draw back to use.
Sorry gotta be honest.
