This elegant replica sword is based on the sabers carried by Napoleon's light cavalry, or Hussars. This saber design was copied by armies the world over, and the pattern can be seen in the designs of U.S. cavalry sabers into and past the Civil War. This saber measures 39" overall, and offers a thick, moderately curved 33 3/4" blade made from 1055 carbon steel. The blade features a long, wide fuller and a sharp point ideal for delivering thrusts. The hilt boasts a leather wrapped grip and three-bar brass guard. This saber includes a heavy-duty polished steel scabbard with dual rings. This is superb example of a classic design! Cold Steel, 88NS.

Nice sword, well put together. Woulld but again. Sabers should only be sharp about a 1/3 of the blade. The dull is used for swordplay, blocking parrryong etc. Its designed that way, not an inspection issue
First impression: very nicely packaged and all the metal which is basically the whole thing was covered in oil/grease. The British proof paper work was nice, and the cold steel inspection sheet was nice too. BUT.... I don't believe the cold steel inspection sheet. "Sword must be razor sharp" one requirement of 14 on the sheet made me very angry. The sword only has an edge on the last 1/3 of the blade (near the tip of the sword) and it is far from sharp at all, its about as sharp as an old steak knife that can no longer cut steak. the rest of the sword edge is flat, YES flat! The product is very good and very very detailed with insane fit and finish quality but for the most part is DULLER than a butter knife. "Name of person who inspected the sword: Nimit Jain""Date the sword was inspected: 4 JAN 2010"I hate you "Nimit Jain" I want to talk to your supervisor!
Turned out perfect! Exactly what I wanted! Thanks a bunch and worth it for the price!
