Our German Pickelhaube Helmet is an accurate, solid steel reproduction of the brass and steel “metalhelme” worn by Imperial German Kurassier - or heavy cavalry - from the mid-1800s to the end of the First World War. In addition to the obvious authentic features - the golden Imperial German Eagle, pinnacle spike and such - our replica includes numerous fine details faithful to the original like brass chinscales, a pronounced stepped brim over the forehead and a distinctive “lobster tail” neck guard, all of which served to protect the wearer from sword blows. This replica is easy to wear with adjustable webbing inside the 6” deep head cavity and an adjustable chin strap. It looks great for reenactments, historical dramas or simply on display, solo or in a larger historic military collection. Full-sized, it measures 14” from the bottom of the “lobster tail” neck guard to the spike point, 11 1/2" from the front brim to the spike point and 9 1/2” from the side chinstrap posts to the spike point. You can almost hear sabers clashing and cannons firing every time you don our replica German Pickelhaube Helmet!
