Light weight easy to use and seems to seal up well. A little light weight so take care not to crush it. Even if you did you could probably still use the flint, striker, and wick.
Got a couple some time back. Unique lighting method always impresses people. Just 1 drawback: plastic threads on cap are easy to cross-thread.
bought two of them one does not work that well and other one lights on first try its ok but won't light up to 1500 times
I purchased one of these and it works well. Difficult to fill without spilling but works good. Seems as though it will last quite a while off a fill of lighter fluid. Good item for survival bag or camping.
I bought this for emergency bag Not daily use. Out the box my lighter lit after a few strikes. Sometimes it lights on first strike sometimes it takes a few strikes but always lights. Even outside. Havent refilled yet and had it about a month. I don't use it regularly i only test it every few days. So far i5 is a great buy for three dollars. Will be ordering more soon.
Great for camping, have used it often to start a campfire. Works great lights even in the wind.
This is my second Perment match first one lasted 4 years, you just have to make sure you fill is every couple of week it doe dry out quickly
Possibly the best thing I have bought from here. For me it works perfectly every time I need it. The only issue was that it wouldn't light for the first time until I lit the wick with a regular lighter. After that it worked perfectly. Even seems pretty resistant to wind. One other thing: Avoid using it to light a smoke because it'll end up tasting a bit like the lighter fluid.
Light a piece of paper or lint to start a fire with fluid. also works as a striker with sparks directed into lint. surprisingly functional, more so than a lot of things!
I bought several of these to place in bug out kits. Made in China and looks like something you would get out of a vending machine. But, I was pleasantly suprized when I struck the flint built into the side. Lit up with a pretty respectable flame. Maybe not suited to constant use, but will do for emergencies. Very small with a big flame. Make sure it has fluid and it should serve it's purpose.
First and most important after reading comments about wicks burning up. This Item needs Lighter Fluid without that you only have a fancy spark and without fluid wick will soon be gone. The comment about fluid getting all over you. Proper use is to place a thumb or finger over the hole to cover while striking sparking rod. Use Fluid, cover hole while striking this item will give years of service.. Dr Larry
bought 3 of these on some sale like the other person said it literally lit 3 times than never again but they work great for fire starting since its jura flint so it works for my needs! maybe not everybody else's hahaha i find it very useful but its no match. if i wasn't going to live in the wilderness for the rest of my life i would rate it 1 or 2 stars
Do not buy! I bought three of these for my kids but did not give it to them because they are total junk. When I first got them all out of the package they all had maybe two to three small pieces of little wick sticking out the metal stick. If you can manage to get them lit without spilling all the lighter fluid all over yourself you will soon find what little wick there is burning off immediately. After the wick burns away all you can manage to light is your fingers because they will be covered in lighter fluid from having to strike the metal end so hard on the strike plate.
Lighter is really cool. Hooks on your keyring and you never have to look for matches or rub two sticks together Or whatever. Great buy!
very cheap, the wick part burnt off the 3rd time i stryked it, save your 3.00, its total junk.
Its a cool LITTLE device, it is the size of a quarter. Its a nice addition to your pocket survival kit or your EDC. Not bad for the price and works as described.
It worked just like it was described to great in an emergency or camping.
Absolutely not a luxury item, but as a survival tool I have had one similar or this for aboutt 40 years. It'll do.
