Ridge Runner's surprisingly affordable Whitetail Ridge Bowie stands apart from the rest - even among fixed blade knives priced two and three times higher! With its rugged beauty and solid construction, it's perfect for the budget conscious consumer who needs a dependable fixed blade for outdoor adventures with the look and feel of a staghorn bowie. The beautiful handle is bookended by a brillaint brass guard and pommel; their mirroresque gleam beautifully offsets the stainless steel blade's alluring satin finish. Its fierce modified clip point profile is great for slicing, skinning, cleaving and even light chopping. What a great knife!! What a surprise!!!

Earlier this year I bought one real cheap try it out when I got it I thought ok, an wall hanger! No I was dead wrong!! Holds an edge well took into Mexico way down! An amigo loved it so I sold it to him for $15.00 American = 17.5 pesos to a dollar. Then I come back up and now I bought them for $11.00 so I bought a few to take with me next time I go down Bowie knives sell well up in the mountains on the Ranchos machete at Coco's heldados are a big hit the scales on this batch have fatter feel ( thicker) I like that!! The sheath is fine, especially in the tropics, where leather goes soft and rots any Viet Nam vets remember that problem??

Handle is polycarbonate, although appears as a good staghorn

Blade is sharp and well forged. Not sure how well the handle will hold with heavy use. The blade is even worth putting a real staghorn handle on should the plastic one come off.

Trustworthy knife

This is an updated review from my review last year. I mentioned I had an issue with the handle and was not sure it would hold up in the field. It held up in the field. I hold this knife above all the rest I own and HIGHLY recommend it to anybody who collects or is in need of an inexpensive quality and trustworthy knife. I gave it 4 stars last time, this time around I’m giving it 5.

This is about a Ridge Runner Pronghorn Peak Bowie / Fixed Blade Knife that I recently purchased a good deal. If I had purchased it at regular price it would have also been a great deal. I have other Ridge Runner knives in my collection that are just as well made and functional. All are full tang knives. They are all well made.

Good Deal Good Quality

Bought this on sale for 5 bucks. For that price I wasn't expecting much. However this knife is well-made and comfortable. On top of that it is balanced and solid. Well beyond expectations for me. The sheath is the only downside but for that price I can't justify complaining about it enough to knock off a star. In fact if I could give it six stars I would.
