Regal and worthy of the Imperial Palace, Shinwa’s Imperial Blue Samurai Sword is definitely befitting of a Japanese Emperor! It features a deep blue, hand-forged 1060 high carbon steel blade, which is complemented by the brass habaki. The handle is traditionally wrapped with genuine rayskin and features a black cord-wrap to match the blade. The intricate, black and gold metal alloy tsuba has a fish and flowing water design and the design is carried through to the gold pommel. The 28” blade slides perfectly into a yellow lacquered, wooden scabbard adorned with black cord-wrap.

This one is for real. Cotton wrapped handle. Real ray skin. Beautiful tsuba is made to look like aged gold. The saya is not only a bright orange, but has a glittery sparkle to it as well. Now onto the blade. Solid. Heavy. Not razor sharp, but sharp enough. The color of the blade isn't a bright blue like the picture shows, but much darker. Like indigo or midnight blue. Still beautiful. I don't plan on cutting anything with this one. I don't want to scratch this beauty. But if it's actually 1060 steel, it could handle anything I put in front of it. Thanks BudK. Shinwa rules!
