Excellent

Have had this for a year and a half, used a ken onion edition worksharp to put a 15 degree edge on it and have not sharpened it since. I use this every day, at work opening plastic packages, cutting rope of both poly and twine, Plastic straps and cardboard; nothing stops it. During sharpening I roughed you the thumb stud a bit and that’s seemed to clear out the issue with its low height. I recommend this to everyone and will be purchasing several for gifts this year.

Great Knife

I have had this knife for almost a year. It's been used and abused and works perfectly still to this day. This isn't really the style of knife I would normally purchase but I love it. It was part of the KOTMC and I couldn't be happier. Fits nicely and comfortably in my hand and opens quickly with the stud. All around winner.

One Major Flaw

This knife, although well built, has one major flaw in it`s application as a self defense knife. The thumb stud used for assisted opening sits flush with the outside casing, making it very difficult to engage. I`ve had to make several swipes at it to before the blade will open. Do not recommend it if you`re looking for a self defense knife.

I love the ease of opening this thing!

So far I love it. seems to hold an edge pretty ok. But yeah baby, does it come out smooth. No need for this one to be assisted. thumb stud is flush, but doesnt really require it with a good wrist flick its out. it is seriously smooth & easy to get open. did I mention that?

Shinwa Red Tsuka Pocket Knife

The action is smooth. It locks secure. The handle feels great. The edge stands up to the Shinwa reputation. Time will tell durability and how well it holds an edge. But for the price, you can't beat it.

Ok,but could be a lot better

The thumb stud needs to be longer . Also , my handle is faded and washed out looking.

Nice KotM surprise

I would have never looked at this knife twice in a catalog, it's not my standard fare. It fits my hand very comfortably, the belt clip isn't even noticed when held, and my grip feels like it won't budge. The mechanism is smooth and precise, very nice quality. Standard new-knife edge. Still new, so I don't know how well it will hold up, but it gives me a great deal of confidence that it's pretty solid - especially for the price.

Very well built.

I got this for my KOTMC subscription and couldn't be happier. It is a perfect knife for everyday carry, extremely functional and task adept. It is easily worth more than the asking price. My only hang up is that I hate pocket clips and prefer Sheaths, not BUCK's fault. Thumbs up and a raised glass for this knife... Sincerely, Jeff Szymecki Erie, PA
