This Butterfly knife by Bear and Son Cutlery is light and durable and a perfect fit for anyone! It features a 5” hollow-ground, stainless steel blade and black die cast handles. Each Bear & Sons knife is handcrafted in the USA in Jacksonville, Alabama. This item cannot be sold in CA, HI or NY.
Sister got it for me for my first butterfly, handles both broke at three months. Overall good knife. But its built for use, not abuse. Beginners be warned. Nothing beats the feel of die-cast, but for durability stay very far away from die-cast. That said, overall great knife, thx bear, after five months I am now an advanced flipper and competing in local competitions. I will be purchasing their products in the future.
i bought this knife and i love it i had it for 4 years before the handle broke after constant abuse to thin knife and it held up before i threw it at trees missed and hit rocks i am purchasing another now that's how much i love this knife
Ive had this knife for 2 years now and carry it almost every day, it hasnt chipped fallen apart or dented in anyway. This is my overall favorite knife because the durability and fun it brings. My only complaints are how loud it is, and its not as smooth as other butterfly knifes, but for less than 40 bucks this is the best your can get.
iv had this knife for 5 years and it just now broke on me today.i am an advanced flipper and havent used a diffrent knife in four years.it stayed razor sharp and very flippable even to today.i would recomened this knife to beginners and advansed flippers if they are on a low budget
I purchased this knife for my wife and had her nickname engraved on it. It looks FANTASTIC! Pros. -PRICE! -super sharp! -great weight and fairly good balance, though a bit heavy on the handle side imho. 149.0g -good quality steel -drop point is angled nicely. -handles feel good -engraving is super easy to read on this knife! Cons. -latch is a bit sticky, just have to keep flipping it and I used some WD40 and it loosened up a fair amount. The wife loves it and I am very satisfied with this purchase.
This is the best butterfly knife that I've seen for a cheap price. Usually I don't buy cheap butterfly knives because they break easily but this is a sturdy knife that comes out of the box greased and ready to flip
Havnt had a "real" balisong since the 1980s. Very satisfied with my purchase. Recommended!
It's a very good knife for beginners if you want to flip it, I wouldn't recommend it for a EDC, it has lasted me 2 years and it's still going strong with a lot of scratches on the safety lock or pin.
got it as a Christmas present and it way more than I expected cutting and fanning were amazing
ive been looking for a good balisong to start flipping for a while , I got this one reccomended to me from a friend online and decided to give it a try , it got delivered within 8 days and came out of the box razor sharp , I took it out and cut paper with it , it went right thru it no problem , it is a nice flipper and moves great , it has barley any blade play , my only conplaint would be that the latch gets in the way some times , but that is easily fixable with two or three O rings , it's a great flipper and totally worth the price , I reccomended it for anyone wanting to get into flipping
Had mine for a while I keep losing it,,, but let me tell you it's better than any butterfly knife I ever owned...and shaper I accidentally stabbed myself in the hand trying to catch it...liquid stitches would have worked...but I couldn't admit to my wife she was right so I let it heal by itself. ? Lol..buy this before it runs out.
I bought two of these, and I learned a couple really awesome intimidating tricks with them. I love to fly it open with a swivel (not hard to learn, but looks SO COOL), and fly it back closed. I'm sure I'll learn more tricks as I go. I always impress friends with this, and they always want to know where to buy one and how to do it too. I've abused these things a lot over the last month of ownership, and it still remains sharp. By sharp, I mean, it's sharp; the blade stays resilient with continued slinging of the blade against the shaft/handle during tricks, and it can cut you pretty bad if you don't use it right. This was a sound purchase, and I believe it will last me years to come.
Outstanding, shipping and handling was a little high. The knife itself is high quality and exactly what I was looking for. Made from high caliber metal and very sharp. A little tight, but after some use it will be perfect. I'm pleased with my purchase.
Great butterfly knife. Practiced with it for 3-weeks now and very comfortable with it. Haven't had to use the blade yet, so I can't say how good it holds up, but the construction of the knife is solid.
This was my first ever butterfly knife and i gotta say that i love it. Be careful not to drop it on a hard surface because u might break the point but other than that its a great knife.
Great knife to start with, tough and durable. Came plenty sharp. Only issue is the latch likes to get caught.
I've recently gotten into balisong flipping, but I couldnt get one for a long time so I made my own out of wood. It worked well but lacked the weight looks and utility of a real balisong. I found this bear and sons balisong on here ( its the only balisong they have) and without hesitation bought it.
Let me just say that as my first balisong I am ecstatic about this one. I got it today, took 5 days to ship ( not the greatest) but the overall quality for such a relatively cheap balisong is phenomenal. As the title advertises, this knife is RAZOR sharp out of the box, actually the sharpest knife out of the box I've ever handled. So no, this is not what youre looking for if you need to learn basics, because you WILL cut the hell out of yourself. 5/5 great buy, planning on making it last through college. Thanks trueswords!
This is a great knife. I was impressed with how durable it is, and how solid the blade it. The blade has very little wiggle in it. It is the best butterfly knife I've seen for the price. The pivot points are pretty stiff when it arrives, so you need to swing it around for a while before it loosens up. Blade was pretty dull, but easy to fix.
This is my first ever butterfly knife, and my very first purchase, along with a spring assisted knife. I've always wanted one, and this is just what I expected. It is very sturdy, and has a good weight. It's not too sharp, but it still cut me a little bit while I was flipping it. The latch is a little loose on mine, but that's not a problem. Very nice. Definitely going to buy from here again
It had been 14 years since i last owned a butterfly knife. Got it out of the box held it in my hand and like riding a bicycle i was opening and closing it faster and faster. The blade came sharp, tried to shave with it not quite that sharp but its not not neccesary cause its a balisong not a razor, the bottom lock is a little stiff, but it feels like it'll loosen up over time. Nice knife for the price.
Easily one of the best butterfly knives I've ever used. It has well made handles and the balance from blade to handle is really good. Nothing wrong besides the blade was dirty when they delivered it.
Not exactly top quality ... but for 29.98 and free shipping ... it's well beyond what one would expect for that price. My only complaint (ergo four v five stars) is the latch, which is exceedingly loose. Would I purchase this again? For the price paid? Yes!
This is an excellent knife for practicing tricks. I use it daily and am very content with its sharpness an durability. The blade arrive rather stiff but loosens up within a couple days. The only issues I have has with it are that the latch swings free and often gets caught between the handles when the blade is open. Which is only minor. The other one is that my blade appears to be rusting. Small brown spots indicating its made from a higher carbon type of steel. For the price though it's expected. Overall a very good knife.
I love this knife and it was sharp and very durable I've dropped it on concrete and had no problem learning a few tricks on it.
Not nearly razor sharp, but sharp enough! Easy to sharpen up.

It comes pretty stiff out of the package, but after about five minutes the handles loosen right up. Good balance, the handles are a soft metal, not plastic like they apoear to be. Very nice point. After about an hour of use, I got it down well enough to confidently flip with my eyes closed.

One complaint, after a short while, the lever would flop around and I ended up closing it pretty hard, so the lock lever damaged the edge. After this happened a few times, I just sawed it off and plan to replace it with magnets.

Shipped in two days, in a nice box. 4.5/5 stars.
I'm by no means a pro with a butterfly knife but I've been working on it.

From a knife owners/collectors standpoint it's a very stunning piece. Solid blade, matte finish on the safe and bite handles and a good edge. Smooth action with the swing hinges. My only complaint is the safety latch is loose fitting and has to be tightened for a proper fit.
It lasted me 3 weeks what happened was that I was flipping it and the hand comes flying right off and iv been trying to look for the pin but had no luck
I purchased the knife and loved it good feeling weighted perfectly. But after a few months the tang pin on the safe handle broke and the knife was useless. fashioned a replacement but that didn't last long i believe its the bores for the tang pins are to thin.
This knife came fast. only a few days. Very excited to get my hands on it. It came pretty sharp too. This knife moves well and it is very smooth. There is only one major issue with it, the latch used to lock it closed gets stuck when you handle it. So if you open it, it flips between the handles. Same thing happens when you close it, so it doesn't fully close leaving space with the blade exposed and you run the risk of injury.(I cut my finger a bit) there's no way of tightening the latch open, you'd have to remove it or wear down the grooves so it won't stick.
For over all it's a nice knife but the thin metal in the safety bar broke when I tried to fix it I noticed it melted you would figure with the price the Handel wouldn't be made of lead I use knives very often at my place of work and this was my preferred one but Handel could be hard aluminum or stainless steel
