"Just got out knives in today...... We likey..... I kinda think of the little knives as tiny cheese blades maybe. I'll edge them and use mine at work. Hers is going with her to work as well she says. Feels pretty good in the hand. I'll have to put a grind on the tang tho. It sticks out a little from the wood. Otherwise this is what I expected for $20."
"The Gurka are known for their skills using the Kukri, though Kukri knives have been found in the tombs of Greek warriors. Modern armies in India, Pakestan, Nepal, and the Ghurka Regiments of Great Britain, amongst others, are armed with the Kukri. The smaller steel implements are the small sharp knife, Karda; and the small steel, left unsharpened, Chakmak, to be used to strike a spark for fire, and to hone the other two knives as a steel. We have two Kukri's ordered at different times, and both had to be belt drawn to a fine steel edge, and then sharpened to a razor edge. Both are our field axe, hatchet, and hunting knife. We did bind the belt loop with paracord to the sheath so the knife handle is vertical on our belts. Our kukri's seem to be evenly hardened at the blade edge to about Rockwell Hardness of 55/60 as is the Karda. The Chakmak is a bit harder. Black paste shoe polish works to harden the goat leather covering the wooden sheath. At less than one third the cost of other Kukri's, these knives work well in the Florida swamps and palmetto scrub!"
"if you want a nice wall hanger this is it. they say it has a carbon steele blade but i think it is of some aluminium type mix because it is very soft. it didnt have any type of edge at all but you can make one but it will not get sharp you can get a chopping edge but due to the soft steele it wont stay. i got mine on sale with a discount for 12 dols if i would have paid the full twenty i would be very mad but for 12 i gues i have a nice replica of what i really wanted."
