Great Twin Gladius

"I bought these Gladiator swords over a year ago and are still excellent practice swords. I sharpened the blades with a course file to get an edge, then finished with a sharpening stone. They are razor sharp now!! I don't know why everyone thinks the handle, pommel and guard are plastic? They are all metal!! NOT PLASTIC!!! If u take a nail or something sharp and try to scratch the parts that u think are plastic you will find very quickly that they are not!! After tightening the grip and blade and adding tennis racquet grip tape to the handle, they are now ZOMBIE APOCOLYPSE READY!!"

Pretty Cool

"When I first got these out of the box, I was a bit disappointed that the handles were plastic, but I got used to it and when my friend came over to "hang out" he saw them and immediately ordered a pair for himself. He was completely fine with the plastic but wanted to sharpen them. Later he Invited me over to destroy cardboard boxes with them, and the worst part of that was picking up the shredded cardboard. Overall, for twenty bucks, a great buy and definitely recommended."

Could use some work

"Got my swords today. I was expecting a worse grade of plastic but was pleasantly surprised by what I got. They chopped through everything I put in front of them. Just to screw around I took the handle off of one and ground the end down, then gave it a new handle with a full tang. Also you have to sharpen the blade. If you have a bench grinder this is only about an hour of work, including binding the wood and wrapping the leather. Overall I'm very pleased both with the product and what I created from the product."

Gladiator swords

"First I would like to say these are not fully functional swords. However, for twenty dollars I believe they are worth buying. The Handel is made of plastic , as well as the pomel and guard. They seem to be relatively sturdy. The guard does have a layer of steel on the blade side. The blade is solid enough for what it is meant for , and comes unsharpened. The sheath is made of nylon webbing, I find it to be servicable but not of a particularly hi quility. This sword is historicaly acurite as for as looks goes, which is all you should expect from a sword in this price range. Over all this is a very good item and is worth the money. I would recommend this to someone who is interested in roman history and is on a budget."

Gladiator Twin Sword Set

"My overall rating is 4/5 mostly because within about the first month of having these swords, the handle started digging into the guard spacing a bit too much. Then again, that's because I tightened the nut securing the outer plastic handle to the actual sword because it was very, very loose. So overall, 4/5, but if you have trouble with the loose handle, just pop off the pommel, and tighten the nut."
