I never actually tried to use this product yet so I cannot tell you I field tested it. But the quality of the product is worth the price. You look at the three piece harpoon sets through a couple other companies and you buy them like I did, and you see why this cost this price. Well worth the price! I own the other three piece sets and I tell you this, I would trade them for this product

I watched the video and looked at the harpoon in the mans hand to see the real size. This is exactly what i was after. "A really tuff harpoon that i could carry around easy and still be able to use like any large harpoon." I can put this on my side and take with me. then put on a stick and use it when i get where i need it. This is a great buy if you want a portable and afordable harpoon. Made very strong and all one peace.

It's very small, it's true, but it's perfect for a bug out bag, or to have in the car as a tool, or any other situation where you need a sharp edge, it doesn't have to be a sword, if that's what you were looking for than there's plenty of those as well in this site, granted the pictures can be misleading sometimes, but that's why you should read the reviews...all in all it's a nice little tool, versatile and sturdy!

Excellent blade! Sharp out of the box, and with a small bit of sharpening cuts paper with ease. Smaller than I expected, but it fits in the hand very well. Made of a single piece of steel, so very sturdy. Sheath fits perfectly and holds tightly. Makes a great addition to the collection.

I bought this and it is awesome. You just lash it on to a nice strong stick using bailing wire. You might want to cut a groove into the end of the stick so it can be more secure, and so the bailing wire won't rust paint some kind of latex paint or varnish over it, The blade is sharp but you can make it sharper if you wanted to. There is 3 holes on the blade for lashing so this was made for that.

I am a prepper (which is one step above CERT and one step below survivalist). I bought the M48 Harpoon because I am a collector of bladed items. I found the harpoon to be Very Sharp. I noticed the three holes in the handle and realized that I could attach a handle and use this to fish; it is a bit big for most fish, but might not be bad for small game. As a weapon, with or without a long handle, this is a serious survival tool. I have most of the tools in this collection and I am happy with all of them.

The curves on this little guy really caught my eye and with such a lie price I bought it without second thought, when I got it, I was a little shocked at the size, but for what it is, its perfect! Amazingly beautiful and sharp, get one now before they are gone for good.

This is one wicked blade. I love teh all steel construction and design of this knife. It came razor sharp out of the box. I'm pretty impressed with all of the M48 Kommando products. Great deal for the money.

This is an oh yes knife. the one piece of solid steel gives you all that is needed in a knife. I like the overall thin design. The sharp edge made skining a big hog nice and easy.

This knife is amazing. As soon as I got it I tested it on a ballistics gel body and it ripped flesh. It has a nice gut hook. A little dull hard to get out of the sheath but once it's sharp it can rip some gutts. This blade is pretty much good enough for a navy seal,... And I'm not just saying that.

This is a great knife very solid, the case is a little weird and its kind of difficult to get the knife out but overall nice knife.

Wicked awesome harpoon. Not only does it have a good feel in your hands, this bad boy has a very intimidating gut hook and is very sharp. Truly impressive! A very trusty weapon/survival tool to have at your side!

Having over thirty years training an collecting edged weapons. This little knife can be very useful in the correct situation. I wouldn't recommend it for everyday carry. But in a survival situation or in self defense it is very capable. The sheath however should be stiffer along it's spine. And is for left hand draw only

This is a very nice blade I must say. I like this harpoon a lot for the style & the edge on it it really sharp. The holster takes some getting used to, not so easy to take the harpoon out quickly at first. I was hoping it would be a bigger size all around but I'm happy with my buy.

This thing is SICK. I planned on buying it as soon as Budk released the prototype image on their Facebook back in 2012. But needless to say, this knife feels very solid, its one solid piece of steel, with an unforgiving edge. The sheath is very good quality, however I only gave it 4 stars because the knife is kind of hard to remove from the sheath at first, and it also could've had a sharper edge. I had to sharpen it up myself but it takes an edge VERY well, be careful with this knife because just it's existence thirsts for some flesh.

Kind of on the small side ...but other then that a great product

This is rock solid and devastating, a very good buy. The sheath is high quality, but not quick draw. However, the 3 star rating comes from it lack of use as an actual harpoon... the 90 degree ridge on the top of the knife hiders penetration halfway down the blade. If you grind this off, works awesome all the way around.

The size was a big disapointmen. The catalog add photos are very missleading

I thought it was gunna be a lot bigger than it really is
