M48 Viking Axe And Sheath - 3Cr13 Cast Stainless Steel Head, Injection-Molded Fiberglass Handle - Length 27 1/2”

The axe as was originally carried by your average viking; was seen in its time as a "cost effective" weapon... every household had one and the sword was a costly weapon (and only obtained after several successful raids). That being said, the viking axe is the quintessential viking weapon. This M48 version is - in a word, exquisite. It has an excellent heft, a perfectly thick blade, grips at both the bottom of the haft and directly under the head, and a strong blade. I wholly recommend it as both a personal defense weapon and a fantastic modern interpretation of the weapon which inspired fear in the all those which found themselves on the receiving end of such a daunting weapon/tool. In my opinion, this is the very best of the M48 line and should be purchased as soon as you are able. Enjoy and skol!

It's a great handle, kind top aka head heavy. It dose the job for quick chopping and looks bad to the bone . It's just awkward to swing if you use it without experience in wood cutting.

The blade is sharp. The handle above the grip is great but where it is textured it is absolutely miserable. Overall would probably have done better using a plain hardened wood handle.
