Musashi Midnight Warrior Katana Clay Tempered Folded Carbon Steel

Prettiest sword in my collection so far, the folded steel and gunome style hamon have me staring at it for longer than I feel like admitting. These are actually kobuse laminated as well which makes them a real bargain. Can't wait to try it on some tatami mats I've got soaking

My katana finally came in this afternoon. It really is a very nice piece. It came well oiled and wrapped in saran wrap in the Saya. All hardware is very tight, the Tuba and Ito is wrapped very tightly and is nicely done. The blade was well executed and the edge on mine was serviceable, however just five minutes with my Accusharp sharpener brought it to a fine razors edge. It now slices paper like a razor blade. I am very happy with this sword and would recommend it to others considering this item. Now I have to clean it, buff out the blade and oil it up.

This is truly a five-star blade, easily worth twice the price or more. Cuts are clean and precise, and mine has performed against targets not recommended for the grade of steel, cutting easily through 1.5 and 2 inch bamboo. If you're in the market for a bargain, grab this one while it's still available!

I got this sword a bit ago and love it every thing is tight the Harmon is subtle but reall. The factory edge is ok but if you know what your doing you can sharpen it enough to shave with no joke.

Really nice sword for the money. Very well balanced. The blade is beautiful to look at. The hamon is incredible. It took some oiling and a little polish to really shine. I will post pictures and a review on Amazon also. Worth the money for the step up from the Musashi Silver line, which is also great and I practice with the Elegant Crane model all the time. Musashi and True Swords make a great team. Great products and prices! Ive got my eye on the san mai model as we speak!

Ordered one for myself and one for my daughter as an early Christmas present. We were very pleased with our swords. Both are tight, beautifully presented and had no flaws we could detect. Also bought the three sword Musashi stand and they look great on display. They shipped together and arrived ahead of schedule. Can't wait to try out the cuts. I just received my Midnight Kame Katana. I can see why this sword it is rated so highly. I never expected to own a sword of this quality for the amount of money it cost. I was willing to play a couple of thousand dollars for a very nice sword but this sword is good enough... for now. The craftsmanship is very good, everything fits well and is solidly built. The blade is strong, heavy and straight, sharp but can even be made sharper. Thanks True Sword Company for not "sticking it to us buyers." You have great products at more than fair prices! I Salute you and will continue to buy more swords from you!

Superb quality for this price range. Sword is well balanced, no rattles, great looking blade. Needed only a little honing to be razor sharp. This was my 7th katana from True Swords, and is one of the focus points of my collection. In addition to the quality of this piece, The True Swords customer service level really sets the bar high. Great response time, shipping is quick, and the packaging is always superb to prevent damage in transit.

Best katana for 200 dollars period.

Just recived my sword today and i must say it is by far the nicest one i have bought from true swords the other3 are great but this has to be my favorite!!!!

I purchased the sword with an open mind not really knowing if i would be impressed with a $200 dollar sword. Ive studied japanese weapons for years so my expectations were not that high. However, this particular sword has rather impressed me a great deal. For the price it is very well made. Everythings tight even the saya. The tsuka is well done and sturdy. The details on the tsuba are crisp and well finished. The blade has no visible flaws other than the bo-hi doesnt terminate properly but ive seen katanas much more expensive do the same. There where no dings or scratches on the saya. The blade could use a polish or just an acid etch. The folds are very visable. Superb job musashi. Trueswords delivered right on time and their customer service is second to none. Def five stars.

just got this sword today it is amazing detail is awesome pegs where about half inch to big sanded them down but sword is amazing solid construction and the support from the staff at trueswords was amazing as well ill be for sure buying more if not all my swords from them

I have been dealing with True Swords for about six months now. I think it is important to ask questions about your purchases before purchasing. Had I done that, I would certainly have saved myself much time. Ultimately, I ended up buying this folded elite midnight kame katana. It was worth all the stuff I went through getting to this one. I love it! It is beautiful. I think the edge was a little less sharp then presented in the ad, and one of the pegs sticks quite a bit out of the handle so I will have to fix that along with maybe sharpening it before doing any cutting with it. Overall, I give this a four stars. I think it is an awesome blade for the price. Customer care in this company is amazing. I have never experienced customer care like this EVER!

This was my first true katana that I ever got a couple years ago and it is one sharp, beautiful, light weight, piece of deadly art that is just as beautiful in the sheath as it is outside of the sheath. I recommend this katana to anyone that want a reasonably priced well made katana with a crazy and dangerously sharp edge.

I got this sword some time ago. I got it from where there mystery boxes. And I'll have to say, highest quality swords I have. I the detail, is amazing. The photos don't do it justice until you hold the blade in your own hands.

It's fair to say that, as my skill and knowledge increased, I demanded more from my katana...and have paid more for each one, until this Midnite Kame. While easily three times the last sword I bought, it is a third the price, and the picture online doesn't do it justice by half! It is beautiful, it is sharp and it is a fearsome blade.

This Katana is everything it says and more.<br />Its the first katana that wasnt only sharp but razor sharp<br />I hade a slight issue with the habaki being loose,but other then that It was flawless. I called and spoke to the rep and he helped me ,offered great customer service and is a worker that truly takes pride in his trade. If I could do it all again I wouldn't change a thing.<br />Comes with a nice case. Nice cleaning box as well as a full detailed card of info of the katanas stats. Which is a nice touch since I never received one before years ago with my other Musashi Models. <br />Cant and wont give it any less then 5/5!

WOW this is a nice katana. Very sharp. Everything is well fitted and tight, the saya fits as it should. Well worth the price. Did a small amount of cutting with water bottles. Actually cuts better than my Hanwei Practical Plus Katana Classic. They could of done a bit better on the polish, though this is very minor fix. Really a beautiful katana !!!

When I saw this sword, I just knew I had to have it. I got this yesterday, and as usual, True Swords' shipping took no time at all. This sword most definitely has everything that the avid blade collector is looking for. Forget 5 out of 5. I give this katana a 7 out of 5!

This weapon is remarkable. True Swords' customer service was excellent (they personally contacted me by phone to inform me of the order status). The sword was very well packaged and arrived on time without damage. No damage or defects were present on the sword. The grain pattern in the steel is clear and beautiful, as is the hardened edge. All the hardware is tight, and it's very well balanced. I would highly recommend this sword to anyone interesting in learning to use the katana, because for the price at $200.00, I feel the quality you'll get with this sword is well worth it.

Just got this wonderful sword today! The craftmanship is incredible! Pictures don't do this blade justice. This katana has nice weight and feels better than my 1060 musashi blade. Well worth the price considering the box and cleaning kit it comes with. Strongly recommended to anyone who likes and appreciates katanas! <br /><br />Delivery arrived just as expected despite the holiday weekend delay. Great job True Swords. So, I purchased this the other day... Boy oh boy, this is one beauty of a sword!! You can see the folds very clearly, and the hamon is amazing!<br /><br />Now, on top of this, I wrote a review earlier that I had some problems.. I can tell you first hand that I have never dealt with a company like True Swords... Customer service is AMAZING.. to be honest, that has been the highlight of my purchase!<br /><br />Now, back to the sword itself.. Everything is solid, and fits nice and snug. The blade is straight and sharp as Albert Einstein (yeah, that sharp). So, if you are wondering about a good sword to get, this is the one!!

Excellent sword. Razor sharp and ready for cutting.<br />Furniture is finely fitted and the tsuka ito is tight. The blade is a work of art and did I say it was sharp? If you look at it wrong you will bleed :)<br />Received it 48 hours after I ordered it. Good job, True Swords!

I recently purchased some Items from True Swords. <br /> One of the Swords I purchased was this Musashi - Folded Elite - Midnight Kame Katana.<br /> Out of the box I was impressed with the beauty of the sword. From the blue Ito, the fittings, everything about it was attractive.<br /> The blade was sharp, it is very light in the hands. I do not think the blade will stand up to heavy cutting nor was it meant to. It has a full length fuller to make it light and fast, and it is! The Hamon is amazing and the forge folded pattern is simply beautiful. In the hands of a trained person it would be lethal. While I have cut through a dozen or so 2" branches ( Aspen ) with it, single mats and pool noodles would be more appropriate.<br /> In closing, amazing blade for the price, fully functional and sharp, so pretty that you will want to put it in a case and invite friends over to stare at it. You wouldn't hesitate to grab it if you heard a noise in the night, I sure didn't. (Darn Racoons.)<br />Thank you true Swords.<br />* As a side note. An error on an earlier order allowed me to learn how very seriously they take customer service. The best I have seen, period. You can order with complete confidence that should anything not be to your liking they will do their utmost to make it right.

We have been training on sword arts in our martial arts class. As I was looking for an entry level sword that would allow me to practice cutting in class at a reasonable price, I found this to be a good choice. <br /><br />Aesthetics: Beautiful construction, solid fittings and tightly assembled. True hamon can be seen. The finish on the scabbard is impecable. An excellent addition as a display piece. (5 of 5)<br /><br />Blade: It is sharpened and like any other sword, it demands caution when handling. (5 of 5)<br /><br />Performance: In class, our instruction did a demo with his sword on bamboo. I tried my first cut on the same type of bamboo, in class. I didn't cut the material the first time. After the second strike it did slice it cleanly. However, the sword was dented. I didn't expect this to happen from a folded steel sword. I can be sharpened back to form. Feels balanced and comfortable when handling. (3 of 5)<br /><br />Overall: A good entry level sword for cutting "practice" if you are trully training in the arts. However, for serious performance cutting or competition, I would recommend a higher quality blade (and more training). Excellent as a display item.

not worth the price, Musashi really let me down on this sword. Blade "looks" well made, the rest of sword is lacking craftsmanship.
