"Don't let the low price fool you! I was surprised when I first received this Herdsman. It's quality, looks and feel are better than some knives that I had paid $100+ in years past. I'm from the generation that prefers steel and wood over "Plastic defense products" on the market today. I prefer Steel and wood over "Plastics" that my dog can chew up. If you like the nice feel of Quality Stainless Steel with the smooth steel and wood handle then this is the knife for you. This knife isn't just for defense purposes, it's heavy duty Stainless build with tight tolerances make this a great knife for self defense, rope cutting, trimming small limbs, cutting weatherstrip and other things that you don't want to use your kitchen knives to cut or slice. Carve your fiancee's name into an oak tree and afterwards you only have to sharpen it and lubricate it with your preferred oil and it will look as good as the day you received it. This has been my experience and opinion of my Ridge Runner Herdsman knives."
