Excellent knife

I've had this knife for over a few weeks now and I'm very happy with it. Excellent quality, still sharp after frequent use, and it's still so satisfying to just pull the lever and have that blade shoot out. If you're looking for a good EDC knife that won't break the budget, this knife is for you.

My Go To Knife

The thumb studs work just fine but I enjoy using the flipper much more due to being able to feel that super quick and positive "snick"! It does need frequent sharpening to keep the razor edge I like to have but it's just a few strokes and a little bit of stropping before that is achieved :) I would recommend this knife to anyone wanting a moderately priced EDC knife! :)

Best EDC I've had so far

I have owned this knife for almost 4 years now and it is by far the best EDC I've owned. I am in Boy Scouts and bring this frequently on trips it has stood up to batoning, multiply drops on concrete with the bade opened, as well as odd cutting tasks. The thumb stud works flawless and the pocket clip is still holding strong. The blade has never chipped and I have only sharpened it once have yet to have a problem with it.

This nice is amazing!! everyone i show it to is jealous and the hair trigger works every time. Like the other comment the clip is crazy tight when your first get. once i finally got in hooked on my pants i just let set there for a couple of hours and it eventually got easier to work with. yes it is more expesive than some of the other auto knives on the site but it is so worth it in the end

My Favorite Assisted Opener

My favorite assisted opener very quick and workable by thumb or finger stud. I like Point down clip carry on knife this fast. Also has safety for deep pocket carry. Excellent weight and balance and looks great. Would like a longer blade and one handed closing, but that would be asking too much.

Best knife I've owned

I have owned this knife for over a year. Not a problem. Its still fairly sharp with only minor maintenance on the blade. Yes, the paint has started to wear off but the mechanism and the screws are still fully functional. By far my favorite knife (that is until my friend in the National Guard took it to AIT in Georgia :/).

Knife OK, Finsh not OK

This S&W Black Ops knife is very functional, sharp and the assisted opening is great. My only complaint is the finish is not holding up well at all. I carry it every day and the finish is wearing down to the metal. The black blade scrathes very easy. Its a work knife, so the finish doesnt matter, but I have other knives I have carried for years and the finish is as good as the day I got them. If you want the finish on your S&W Black Ops knife to last for years, do not carry it daily or use it. I like the S&W knife styles, but I will not purchase another one due to the weak finish on their knives.

I LOVE these knives....I have them in light blue, dark blue, red and black. I have small but very strong hands, and these knives fit my hands nicely and react quickly when I flick my wrist.

3 Smith and Western Black Opps Tanto Tactical Folding Knife

I began buying my husband and 2 sons pocket knives as stocking stuffer-s several years back. Each year, I try to do better then the last. This year I purchased this knife in red, blue and black. Each person was excited until I opened a knife for myself which I wanted because it was sharp. I have never failed to purchase a knife that has failed to be worth the money I spend and it is fantastic to see the joy on the guys face. I now have a possible future daughter-in-law to be and she has fallen into the stocking stuffer of the knives. She enjoys getting the knives as much as the guys. Thanks it makes everything easy when you have purchased as many knives as I have over the years

You're wrong

1-There is a lock on the knife. 2-Sometimes the knives from budk do not ship in working condition, you should take the knife apart and make sure everything is together.... overall when I got my knife the Teflon ring was stuck inside of the handle and not installed so I had to fix that. Overall great knife. very sharp, very sleek, very pleased...

The knife broke not a hour after I got it in the mail. Whenever you would close the knife it would pop open.

Awesome knife

I bought this knife a few days ago and I can't believe how much fun it is to just flick it open and close it. Its very sharp out of the box and very sturdy, it opens very quickly and the handle is beautiful.

love it! i just bought this and it was definitely worth it. hair trigger for a quick open, came incredibly sharp (cut my thumb immediately ;D) haha. but it's great! the colors, the shape, and everything else is just pretty good.

the upsides:
-super sharp! cuts through practically anything like... well like a hot knife through anything! :P
-has a locking mechanism that keeps it from coming open in your pocket
-hair trigger switch for easy opening
-fits your fingers when open for a good grip
-fantastic color, exactly as advertised
-blade has a very good shape and makes people interested every time you open it.

the downsides:
-the clip is insanely tight. you'll need to wear it in for a few weeks to get it to loosen up. or you could take the shortcut and just loosen it with an allen wrench
-the colors look great, but scratch it, and i'll come off. unfortunately it's not going to be permanent.
-it didn't come in 2-3 days, it took right around 6 or so. but maybe it was just because it was a weekend when it should have arrived.
-and finally the last "slight" problem i have with the knife, is that the locking mechanism sometimes will become unlocked in my pocket, and that means when the trigger is bumped, it opens.
-sort of expensive for a spring assist. but if you're a knife enthusiast, it's a steal.

other then that, a great knife. i give it a 9/10

Smith & Wesson Black Ops Blue Tanto Tactical Folding Knife

Great blade! Very sharp when received, and I added an even sharper edge... this little blade can cut through rope like a hot knife through butter, but I think it is best saved for response to dangerous situations. The blade can snap open most quickly, by thumb or by trip mechanism, affording an immediate, one hand call to defense.
