The jungles are tough, but with the Timber Rattler Jungle Fury, it's not so bad. Take care of any problems with the 10 1/2" stainless steel blade with a cut-out blood groove and a razor-sharp edge.
Almost a short sword at 15.5" overall; this is a great Bowie knife for a spectacular price. Very well made.
Great knife for the price better quality than expected for the price would recommend to others.
I just got this knife yesterday and it is definitely better than I thought sharp right out of the box and huge the ingraving on it looks pretty awesome all and all a pretty sweet knife
I realize it's a 15 dollar knife. Upon further inspection, I found a lop sided blade grind ,stains on tge brass ,and a small chunk out of the blade window. A bit more quality control would go a long way.
I purchased one for the holidays as a gift when I saw it now I am buying another one for myself it's beautiful for the price
I bought this for a friend and I absolutely fell in love with it. What a great feel and balance. Love this knife for the price. Plus, my friend was ecstatic. Overall, this knife is a winning combo of price and style.
Great blade.... But it fell apart after the 5th wack on a log.....!!!! The Pakistani blade is great, but that's it. So instead of returning it to BK. I found a solution. So since the blade was good and the handle was junk. I modified it.!! So I remove the pommel and replace it with a nut, with the same thread pattern. Then I put the pommel back in place using Gorilla glue, as it is just for looks.. And then I drilled a hole for a lanyard. Now this sword will chop through a 3'' branches....NO PROBLEM...!!!¡!! Worth buying, but needs to be modified.
So impressed with this knife and all the k Ives I've bought here so far....I have recommended this site to many....love this site...I will continue to build my blade arsenal thru budk...
Nor can you pass this up. Great Knife all away around and Sharp out of the Box.
Had this knife for two or three months. Have cleared a half acre of woods with it. Not too much of a tall tell! I read on survival sites on facebook about all the $200.00 knives that are a must have for a real survivalist. I disagree completely,,I lived aboard a sailboat for four years. Have hiked much of the Appalachian Trail. Did not carry this knife. Just testifying that I have used knives and knives with marlin spikes for many years. I would take this knife where my life depends on it without fear of failure. I have many knives. I have many guns. But I have rarely seen a deal this good last this long. I do not know how timber rattler does it. Or maybe why is the question. This knife is worthy of a much higher price point.
The blade is very sharp rite out of the box. It's handle is made out of very beautiful tight grain wood. Excellent knife to own
This knife IS AWESOME you cannot bend this knife IT IS HUGE. This is a big Bowie knife. When i got this knife it came sharp! I cut down a tree with this knife. Took about 30 times to take it down. This is the jungle knife that you need!
Just got mine in the mail last week. Good crafted stainless blade, sturdy comfortable handle, exceptional quality leather sheath. I cannot believe it was only 10 bucks! However...you must put an edge on the blade...
I just bought a second one of these Bowies. Perfect length for the bugout bag. They have a long knocked-out blood groove that would make pole-attachment really easy with paracord. Gotta echo another reviewer, "For $10? what's not to like?"
This knife was a real surprise to me when I received it recently. I only ordered this knife because it was one of the few that I didn't already have,so I thought why not give it a try. When I did receive it I was pleasantly surprised. It is NOT a great knife, but it is a very good knife. For the money it is good looking, has a nice heft to it,and I would recommend it to everyone.
This knife sharpened up nicely in just a few minutes. The workmanship on mine was very good. It feels good in your hand. For $9.99 what's not to like.
Bought this one to give to my son. This knife was much, much better than expected! It is a massive Bowie! The handle feels so incredibly great in my hand! The brass accents are beautiful. For $10 bucks, I'd say it's one of the best BUDK deals of all time! I am seriously considering getting one for myself. This is the biggest, baddest, and least expensive [email protected]$$ Bowie knife you will ever find! I highly recommend it!
I bought this knife not long after they came out, mine came very sharp, no flaws on the blade, the brass cleaned up with a rag, and the sheath fits just right. It's damn tuff for a stocktang knife. would make a good amp knife. tested it and compared it to my Rambo 111 (from which the knife design resembles). the Jungle Fury while NOT as robust as the larger knife, it proved more than capable as a field knife. Perhaps quality control has slipped at TR, but I give my copy five stars! I paid more for mine, so for ten bucks, what are you waiting for?
This knife has a nice large handled easy to hold grip. Lightweight considering it's size and heavy duty construction. It also has a great leather sheath that will last for years under heavy use. I'm very happy.
Very strong even for not being full tang and looks great. I've put mine to the test and held up great.
very impressed with this purchase. Huge knife! knife came sharp out of the box. Looks amazing and feels excellent in your hand when using. would definitely recommend this knife to others and would buy again!
I originally purchased just one to keep on my side while hunting. Just to have a cheap knife I didn't mind abusing. After buying it and using it for about 6 months I bought three more. One for myself and two as gifts. This knife is extremely large with a very comfortable with handle and brass accents. I read other reviews and they said the brass was stained. If you spend about 5 minutes polishing and that will surely come off. The sheath is made of real leather it appears and is very durable. This knife is great for the price.... I'd buy again in a heartbeat. Get a 2nd for a gift.
Thats what your going to get with this knife. I didn't have any issues with the fit or finish of this knife it is big and beautiful, So your going to get your moneys worth with this knife as its definitely a show stopper. The bad news is, #1 its a rat tail. #2 your going to have to work this blade to get an edge on it. Bottom line for 10 dollars your getting what your paying for. If you want full tang and an inch more blade spend $10 more and get the western outlaw.
this knife is a beast just a huge beautiful Bowie if you haven't bought this knife do it right now!!!
I thought this deal was to good to be true but it was not. Huge! Razor sharp, beautiful handle, nice brass. Sheath isn't awful but not the best quality. Western outlaw 20$ for 1 more inch in the blade ? Or jungle jury 10 dollars less for 1 inch less I recommend this over western outlaw absolutely worth 10 bucks
I will start of by saying that this is a GREAT deal for 10 bucks. Okay. Now that that is out of the way, there seems to be some kind of residue on the brass right where the wood touches it. It looks like glue or wood-finish. The sheath is... ok. It seems to be a little tight on the blade. The closer strap isn't well put on and seems to want to came of after a day of taking the knife out. The knife itself is bigger than it looks. You might want to have a yard stick in front of you to really get how big this knife is BEFORE buying it. The blade took an edge really well and kept an edge after pretty extensive use. I recommend this as a work or gift item. Just be ready to ask for a replacement if you are intending it as a gift item as a lot of people have said theirs didn't come in good shape. Over all a good deal on a better knife. Thanks Budk!
Beware it is a lot bigger than it looks! Nice and well put together. But sheath has some sort of stick on it
The knife is their usual high standards but lacked in the edge department, also the sheath is a little on the flimsy side but those items can be remedied with a little hands on work. I like the knife because it is a large blade (I am partial to large massive blades) but is lite and easy to handle. For what I paid it would be worth it at twice the price. Timber Rattler makes some of the best monster knifes I have ever used and I have a nice massive collection after 55 years of collecting. If you want a knife that will last and not fall apart Timber Rattler would be the one to buy.
I didn't buy this to hang on the wall, I wanted a heavy large beater knife to use and get dirty. I paid $9.99 and it's worth way more. The sheath is very thick and well done as well. Good camping or working around the yard piece
ordered 2 of these nice knives overall but received both with tarnished and discolered hand guard not for display as I hoped
I have one of these jungle fury knifes. We did the chop test with a plain old pine 2x4.....chopped it 3 times.....bent the blade badly 3 times......and this was just pine...
very nice knife i like handle a lot if blade ever broke i would keep handle to put some Damascus on it
Although the blade is well designed and handle feels great in my hand, there is one major problem. The blade is very dull. I originally tested the sharpness with paper which only bent the paper, then I tried it on a foam-rubber type of material which it didn't make a mark on. Lastly, I ran the blade across my hand. Not a scratch. A Bowie is generally a slashing type of weapon so a sharp blade is a must. Do not buy this unless you have a means to sharpen it. I'm sure if it's sharpened, it would be a helluva knife.
For 10 bucks you would be stupid not to buy this! Great design and comes pretty sharp nothing crazy but far from dull. Overall could be happier
Geat pricing for a good looking quality knife..Big blade with manageable weight.nice mating of wood steel and brass
Great knife heavy blade looks like a much more expensive knife. Sturdy bought 3 will order more for gifts
Very impressed with quality and style of the Timber Rattler Bowie Knife. Everyone should have one in their survival kit. I have purchase eight knives in total for giving as a great gift.
TIMBER Rattler is one of the best knives for the price I have in my collection. If your looking for a inexpensive, good looking, and a excellent working knife. You have it with these TIMBER RATTLER. I collect Bowie Knives and I use them also. And where I have had other break, chip and not hold up. Timber Rattler passes all test get your Timber Rattler now before they sell out
I wasn't sure when I ordered this but saw some other reviews that said it was a good knife. How right they were! It's BIG, strong and really sharp! Nice sheath and it carries well, I'm lovin' it!
I was very inpressed when I open the box and saw this knife. You cant go wrong with this one. Holds up very well and worth the money. You will not regret buying this one. Great service from BUDK.
When I ordered this knife I figured it would be big but when I received this knife I was blown away! Are you serious? $15? That's a steal! Go for it! You won't be dissapointed.
What a shame this knife is on closeout. For $15, it's a steal. Very well balanced and the wooden handle is awesome. Not only is it a beautiful traditional looking bowie, it's also tough as nails. I have chopped wooden logs, sticks, limbs, 2x4's, saplings... I've thrown it, stabbed things with it and it keeps asking for more. It comes pretty sharp right out of the box and has held its edge even after all the abuse I've put it through. This is by far my favorite bowie and I hope to keep it for many many years and one day hand it down to my son. All in all, what a great knife. You better get one while you can.
Saw the video and had to have it. It's everything that is claimed and an awesome piece of cutlery. The knife just feels good in my hand. I have several TR blades and feel they are an excellent value...worth far more than budk's price. Budk is simply a great place to buy knives.
This is incredible i love it. The blade is just the right weight and the crafting in the handle is beautiful and unique to every knife. The leather sheath is a perfect match to the knife. I love it if you never buy an other knife again buy this.
I have been putting the jungle fury through its paces, and it is an awesome knife.
Timber Rattler Outlaw bowie knife is bigger but this is just as nice.Timber Rattler are made real good. I like Timber Rattle band. they really are the standard excellence!
This is one of my favorites, and a definite beefy beater! I got two and still want some more of them. Please bring them back BUDK.
Nice huge knife, and great value. Could have been sharper, will let my nephew learn how to sharpen knifes. Overall good quality, especially leather sheath. Used it to chop down tree, for around $10 bucks not worried about damage.
I was surprised how big this one is. It's fairly well made, nice looking and stout, but had a bit of a gap between the blade and handle. Sheath is OK, too, but the edges are just foam.
this is a knife! Big, sharp, and tough. The brass is stained. I'm guessing it's from the glue they used for the handle. But I was able to clean it up pretty well. Either way' I didn't buy this knife to look pretty.
Have bought a couple of these and have received a few others in the "Scratch and Dent" Bowies and Machetes deals offered periodically. Many below have lamented the residue on the brass that have ruined the brass. For those that decide to keep the knife, just a few minutes of sanding with fine grit sandpaper, and some polish such as Brasso will bring back a pretty good finish. Knife is a good deal for the price, even better if you are lucky to get one in a "scratch and dent" package.
This knife is overall a good deal. Very nice blade. Large and comes with a sheath. For $9 I wont complain. I even got free shipping. I have always been happy with purchases from Bud K. Keep in mind on this purchase the Brass is peeling off the top of the handle. I saw that in other peoples reviews prior to purchase. I bought two... one is peeling bad. The other was in very good shape so giving to my dad as a gift.
I was kinda disappointed that this was our first purchase from BudK and it arrived with a scratch on the blade! Which of course wouldn't be an issue if these weren't going to be display knives only!
Response: Hello, we apologize for the scratches on your blade. You are more than welcome to send it back for a replacement, the number to reach us is 1.800.956.1667.
This knife has a good blade that's longer then it looks in the pics, its handle is big and fat but seems hollow on the inside. it has a bit of round metal that shows from the hilt that is probably attached to the blade but not for sure since I haven't taken it apart, I wish this knife had a good tang to it. The things I don't like about it is that the brass has corrosion/stain but that would probably come off with some work and the sheath is to small for the knife to the point that the knife is cutting it. the sheath also stinks and has some gunk on it. But if I was looking for a good solid bowie I would go with the western outlaw, I have had it for a few years and love it.
Just received the Timber Rattler JF Bowie. Knowing it was made in Pakistan I expected some blemishes. There are none. The blade is cleanly polished and the brass is unblemished. The handle doesn't have any visible joints, the wood's grain looks great, and it has some kind of "poly-like" finish that makes it very smooth. The leather sheath is thick, no blemishes, and the quality of the stitching I would give a 3 out of 5. I'm pleased with this purchase.
For a 10 doller knife its a good buy, the blade was really dull but it will buff out. The sheath is pretty cheap. Foam and cheap leather. Normally you get what you pay for but overall I would be willing to spend a touch more on this knife.
I just got my timber rattler jungle fury bowie and idk if I'm just unlikely or something but it seems like every knife I buy I get a dull and the profile is off I'm hoping that I can just sharpen it and hope that it will hold the edge

I did not have any of the issues with the brass, wood handle or sheath that are mentioned in other reviews. That being said, I think this knife is a good deal for $10. However, I would have been really disappointed if it had been twice the price. My issue, as mentioned in some of the other reviews, is the blade. It did not have much of an edge on it when received, and does not want to seem to take an edge like my BUCK and Gerber knives (though they were more expensive). Pakistan steel (which this is made of) should be used for train tracks, not knives. I have yet to have one that will take an edge. Unfortunately, the origin of the steel was not mentioned in the description. I think that BudK should include this information - for all, not just Pakistani steel. For the price of $10, I probably would have bought it anyway, but would not have been disappointed by finding it out upon receipt. It is a cool looking knife, and a deal for the price, but don't expect to use it for much of anything.
I read the reviews on this knife before I bought it, so I wasn't expecting much more than a big honkin' blade for a very low price, and that's exactly what I got. I don't understand why they used a brass-plated guard. It came out of the box already peeling off brass flakes. They coukd have used stainless steel as easily, or brass, and it would have looked great. Instead it looks like it came from a dollar store. Minor design change would make a big difference.
nice knife, just got it today. only problem is brass plated pommel and guard , brass pealed of. not to happy about that. will be my beeter knife now. other then that glad I got it on price reduction but I still like the knife just dissapionted about the brass pealing off.
I've had a hard time deciding on 3 or 4 stars. I changed it twice while I was writing this. Yes it is a great price for a decent knife but sitting it side by side, I don't see much difference between this and the "Pig Sticker" which is 6 dollars less and pretty much in the same class. The handle is probably meant for someone with much bigger hands than mine and it just doesn't feel good unless you move your index finger over the lower guard. There is a great big lump in the middle of the great looking handle that I don't believe would feel right even if the proportions were smaller over all. The Pig Sticker was the same way but I didn't feel bad when I sanded down the handle and wrapped it in Para cord. I'll probably just keep it for looking at.
Got this knife and out of the box not sharp but not a big deal. The thing that got me was that the knife looked like it's been sitting around for quite a while with rust on the button and rivets of the sheath. The brass was stained and were the blade meets the hand guard it looks like some went a little crazy with the grinder cause there is a huge gap, big enough to see where the blade goes into the wood. Don't think your are getting a $30 knife at a $9 price, but for $9 it does serve a purpose. That being said it will not keep me from buying more blades from budk. I have got a lot of great knives from them and will continue to do so.
If you approach this purchase with the $10 price in mind, it is a deal. That said, mine came very dull, the grind was very uneven, the sheath looked moldy (cleaned it up with leather dressing) and very cheaply made; but perhaps the worst was the terrible dark brown substance smeared all over the brass in the grip area which ultimately ate into the brass. It took me an hour of hard work with metal polish to get some of it off but the brass is forever etched from it. At least some of the other reviewers reported the same brown 'stuff' on the brass so do expect the same if you make the purchase-and be happy if yours doesn't have it!

too much corrosion on the brass part. very disappointed that budk would send this product out like this. I have ordered several hundred dollars worth of knives from budk. and none have been like this. Bud k you dropped the ball by not mentioning blemished knives in your ads. shame shame shame. The knife is alright. The blade was not sharp at all and the brass was corroded. I cleaned that up with some hoppes #9 but it is still marked up. The sheath is not usable because every time I take the blade out there is a sticky residue on the blade that is tough to clean off. I do like the wood handle but I think it's hollow. All in all you get a decent 10 dollar blade with an unusable sheath that is not going to be a display piece. Would be a good knife to take camping or using as a beater.
I collect big Bowie Knives (any Bowie knife) so I had to get this,The handle is super fat, Ive got large hands but this handle is too fat even for me, its fat as a ham (a hamdle), I'll have to grind it down and refinish it myself, the blade has that open slot in it which I find to be too gimmicky, like a regular blood grove on a 10 inch blade isnt going to cause enough bleeding if you had to protect yourself, that slot weakens the blade. That said, I will use the crap out it and spare a prettier knife.
I reviewed this right after I got it and was irritated because the brass plating was flaking off. I took a little Brasso to it and discovered it was just some glue from the handles. That and the thick, meaty sheath have raised my valuation of this deal tremendously. For ten bucks it's one of the greatest bargains out there.
