A traditional blade.

"I liked this blade so much I am seriously considering acquiring another. I am not a fan of the western idea of a tanto point. In its original form, its point matched the points on the daito and the wakizashi. There was none of the sharp delineation from the body of the blade to the point as we see on what are called tanto points in the U.S. Even the Ka-Bar tanto which has the traditional point is called a modified tanto. This blade is sharp enough to do the job. It's length will allow it to transverse all but the largest targets. It will easily reach vital spots. While the handle is not traditional, I am not against improvements and I think the rubberized grips make easier gripping if they are wet. The sheath is not a traditional wooden sheath but we don't have swordsmiths in every town as they did in medieval Japan, so modern materials fit the age. And D2 steel is a decent steel for this type of blade. What's not to like?"

There When You Need It

"Incredible piece for collectors, as well as for possible defensive purposes. Mine truly was razor sharp out of the box. It has enough weight to be useful, yet not so heavy that it is cumbersome. This an exceptional value, especially if you are a fan of HONSHU blades."

"This rating is just for the knife. Great knife, this knife is so sharp you can shave with it right out the box. Full tang and a really nice fill in your hands. That being said, the holster, even though it's really nice leather, is a bad design. Hard to put in sheath and the button is hard to button, but well worth the money spent. Just get rid of sheath and make your own.... Knife gets 5 stars the set {knife and sheath} gets 4 stars. If you are still on the fence just pick it up you will be happy you got it."

"I love this knife. It's a big, awesome knife - thick blade, full tang, heavy and with a heavy guard. The handle fits my XL hand just fine, and the rubber grip feels great and doesn't slip. The knife is very nicely finished and is one of the few knives I've bought that I didn't feel needed to be 'tuned up' on the cutting edge. The sheath isn't fancy, but is heavy leather and well made. The only 'defect' is that the strap on the sheath is a bit too short and pushes the guard into the belt loop in a weird and sort of uncomfortable way. But THAT may be a production thing and not the way yours will arrive. (Besides, I can change that myself.) It's a great knife for the money if you need a long blade and I recommend it highly. I'd buy another if I didn't have other things I want to buy first."

This is the one my husband loves

"In his collection so far, this is the one he is proud to show his friends. There is an audible gasp when they first see it and are anxious to hold it."

Expensive!

"Knife is ok, sheath would be good except the knife does not go all the way in! MTech version is less than half the price and nearly as good!"

"I just received this knife a couple days ago and really all I could say was "WOW this knife is huge".to me this is kinda like a small katana in my hands.the blade is sharp and the handle gave my hand a firm and unbreakable grip."

"This is a great knife for the price. The fit and feel of the knife is excellent. The blade is nicely polished and of the right length. When you pick up the weapon it is solid in your hand. As someone already stated the sheath is poorly designed and the snap is hard to work UNTIL you use it for awhile and then it will function better. It is still too easy to slice through it. I'm happy I bought the knife and would again."
