After being attacked on three separate occasions by the neighbour’s dogs while walking my own I figured it was time to send a bigger message to the dogs and there owner. A simple Zap from the cane without ever using was enough. He keeps his dogs in check and they don't want any part of that zapping noise. The sound alone is enough to ward off an attacker, but if not am sure this would drop any man or beast long enough to get away.

smart cane

This cane is a fantastic posession: cane, tool, flash light, defense weapon, etc.

Great deterrent! I mainly use when walking and to get the mail as we're in a rural area with loose dogs. I'm torn between ordering the mag light zapper or the smaller handheld and keeping it in the car when for when I have to visit the City. There are loose dogs of a different sort there!

wonderful protector

My sister bought this cane for me. I love the feeLing I get of knowing I'm protected when I'm carrying this cane. I feel very safe with it, knowing what it could do when needed. I'd buy it for anyone handicapped.

Great but...

I really like the concept of the loud zap. I think it would scare off most threats with out contact. My problem is the tiny hard to slide switch, I have bad hands and especially when my fingers are cold I have difficulty arming the zapper. A little nob to push would be great for me.

A Disabled person's "must have"

I am a permanently disabled person. Severe lower back damage requires me to use a cane. This in itself makes me appear "vulnerable" I already have 2 "standard" adjustable canes: 1 "designer" fancy cane and 1 regular cane. Because of limited mobility such as turning, this would be VERY effective for me - rather than trying to hit someome with my standard canes in case of an attack/altercation. I will DEFINATELY be adding this "zapper" to my collection very soon.

Saved my life in a carjacking....

February of 2011 I was involved with being carjacked at gunpoint and as I was being pulled out of the vehicle I armed my cane and as the guy was pulling the hammer back while putting the gun to the back of my head to shoot me I hit him with the cane.... I wasn't sure how bad I got him because of the round hitting me but it helped me to fight him and his buddies off and they never got the car..... The cane and my training helped save my life....

Zap Cane

The Zap Cane does not have any stickers saying anything about what it is,so if it used to, they have removed such. I just got mine and charged it up and it is awesome. It will work wonderfully as my cane and give me the ability to defend myself as I walk the city streets at night. With this cane, I can easily take to attackers down by simply swinging it up into the groin area of the 1st attacker and then to the neck of the second. After that I can go back and forth until either I am tired or they have had enough.

Zap Self Defense Cane

I was walking around carrying a normal blackthorne replica walking stick. I happened to have lunch with a friend that is a sheriff in N CA. He told me to stop carrying any plain old cane of any sort. When I ask him why he said even the ones from a drug store are considered a dangerous weapon. So If I were to hit some one. Even if they were robbing me I might go to jail. Then he told me get the Zap Self Defense Cane as the worst anyone could get me with on it might be a disorderly conduct charge. For that they give you a ticket and ask you to show up for a Judge to decide. The DA would most likely throw it out first. dray

Zap Self Defense Cane

Man O man o MAN Talk about a happy camper. I R 1 This ZAP Cane is that nice. I looked at the photos and thought well they can make anything look nice. Actually when it got here it was even better than the photo's. Then I tried it out. It seemed really good and I had not put it on a charge yet. After it had charged for a while I had a moment to try it again. Boy o boy what a difference that hours worth of charge made in it. The Snap and crack when the thing was active was astounding it lit up like the fourth of July. I can hardly wait too see a bad guy leave potty marks on the floor as he runs to get away from this ELECTRICAL MONSTER. I sure would not tackle someone with one of these things. It sure would scare me. If I was the Bad Guy. dray

my zap cane

After my black lab Mike was attacked(and severely injured) by a pack of 4 neighborhood dogs, my son-in-law bought me this zap cane. Now I stand protector for Mike to go out into his own yard (grrr) BUT the first time I discharged the zap cane (into the air, not ON any dogs-I hadn't REACHED them they all took off for places far from me, and now they run just SEEING it...that electrical buzz struck the fear of God into those bad dogs, and I LOVE my zap cane, even if I never actually get to use it!!

Amazing cane.

However, there as some misleading things about it.

The thing on the back is not the stun gun button, as I believed, it is just a nub.

The flashlight is not press and hold to turn on, it is controlled by the arming switch. The light is extremely bright and white, not yellow.

There is an almost impossible to see sliding switch on the front of the cane, about an inch down away from where your index finger would rest, this is the arming and flash light switch.

This switch has three modes:
1. Off.
2. Flashlight on.
3. Armed.

In armed mode the button you see is pressed and held to deliver the shock.

The cane is very adjustable, and very sturdy. However with the label which brightly says "ZAP CANE," and the rather bulky stun gun portion, I fear it may cause some trouble in public or public transportation.

I am only docking 1 point because it looks, feels, and works great, but the description clearly states: "Hidden in plain sight, they'll think it is just a cane until it is too late!" and this is simply not true.

All in all, a great buy, and I will be back.

Zap Self Defense Cane with Flashlight

I being a fan of budk and i love for the bad guys to lose, a customer of ours is a bail bondsman so he is around stupid criminal types all the time. So i suggested the shock cane, cause he is an older gentleman and it would be very ninja to carry something criminals would never expect. So i had it shipped to my place, out of the box a very nice cane with mean looking probes and scary sound and flash, so he's a wielder of lightning, the only thing i didn't like was the stickers that came on the cane, one a warning sign and the actual zap cane label, very hard to take off, stickers tore and left a residue...not very ninja. Other than that a very bad a** cane, one could take on zeus with such power..... he offer 25 bucks to let him try it on me... i declined! Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments.
